Gastric Byp or Lap Band?

Here's an article comparing lap band surgery to gastric byp. The biggest difference is the lap band procedure is temporary if you want to remove the adjustable band. Gastric byp is permanent and involves extensive major surgery. There would be a lot more risks with gastric byp than with the lap band system surgery. Nurse Addison
