How do you use seo and hit the top of google fast? i want to make my website #1 as quick as possible.?

i started a website a while ago and am looking to become top on google. but im a bit puzzled how seo works and what all this coding business is. if anyone could send me a link for a breakdown of how to use seo and what it really is that'd be great. thanks in advance.
