PRO'S and CON'S of medicare providing coverage for end of life consultations?

The end of life consultations already take place, but just aren't covered by Medicare. Anyone who has had to deal with an ill parent or grandparent will already know that it's one of the worst conversation one can have. The whole purpose of the consultation is so that the patient can make a decision, while they are able, and insure that their wishes are doented and carried out by the medical staff caring for them. As one can imagine, family may be in denial, not understand treatment options, or simply not be available when life and death decisions need to be made. Consequently, I fully believe that end of life counseling should be made available for whomever needs it.
