Check Engine Light?

I have a 1988 Chevy Camaro, check engine light comes on like clockwork about 10 minutes into the drive, tends to turn off while I am stopped, or in neutral, then come back on when I press on the gas. Just got a whole new engine, and it seems to be working fine besides the light coming on. Sometimes a few days will go by without this happening, and sometimes its every day. What gives? Should I get it checked out?
